After spending many years at home bringing up my children and enjoying the 'usual' family holidays I decided I wanted to discover the more 'unusual' destinations the world has to offer. I joined Bales over 6 years ago and in that time have travelled extensively including escorting group tours to Nepal and Tibet, Peru and Brazil. I have also enjoyed seeing tigers in India and the timeless pyramids of Egypt. My heart truly belongs to South America and have returned to Guyana, Argentina and Chile.

I had my first experience of Bales at a young age as my family have always been keen travellers and enthusiasts of the company. To expand my knowledge of the travel industry I studied Geography and Tourism at university, before gaining several years work experience at Virgin. I then applied to Bales as I liked the idea of working for a family orientated, more personal company. I have now worked here for nearly five years as a Tailor Made specialist in the operations department.

After working at The Observer for 12 years in various departments and as a PA, I decided to work nearer home and was fortunate enough to be employed by Bales as a secretary in 1990. Moving into the Marketing Department in 1994 as an assistant gave me experience of different aspects of travel. In 2002, I joined Operations and have travelled to India, Egypt, Lithuania, Marrakech and Jordan. I have visited Canada independently several times

Having worked in various customer focused industries, including a Chinese computer parts company in California and a German Beer company I joined Bales Worldwide in July 2004. My previous travel experiences had been limited to throughout France and countless occasions visiting relatives all over Spain where I also studied the local language. Since working for Bales I have had the privilege of visiting places further afield in Latin America, Africa and Asia, recently including lesser discovered destinations such as Macau, Guyana and Dominica. I have recently been training to be a Bales Worldwide Tour Manager and am currently taking a course in Brazilian Portuguese.

My love affair with travel started as a student. Taking advantage of our extended summer holidays, I travelled around America and Europe. In 2002 I joined Bales on a placement year from university, aiding both my business degree and travel knowledge. After graduating in 2004 I instantly rejoined Bales and I’ve now travelled around areas of Asia, South America and Africa. I’m currently excited about my forthcoming journey around India, a country which I have wanted to explore for years.
