After spending many years at home bringing up my children and enjoying the 'usual' family holidays I decided I wanted to discover the more 'unusual' destinations the world has to offer. I joined Bales over 6 years ago and in that time have travelled extensively including escorting group tours to Nepal and Tibet, Peru and Brazil. I have also enjoyed seeing tigers in India and the timeless pyramids of Egypt. My heart truly belongs to South America and have returned to Guyana, Argentina and Chile.

I had my first experience of Bales at a young age as my family have always been keen travellers and enthusiasts of the company. To expand my knowledge of the travel industry I studied Geography and Tourism at university, before gaining several years work experience at Virgin. I then applied to Bales as I liked the idea of working for a family orientated, more personal company. I have now worked here for nearly five years as a Tailor Made specialist in the operations department.

After working at The Observer for 12 years in various departments and as a PA, I decided to work nearer home and was fortunate enough to be employed by Bales as a secretary in 1990. Moving into the Marketing Department in 1994 as an assistant gave me experience of different aspects of travel. In 2002, I joined Operations and have travelled to India, Egypt, Lithuania, Marrakech and Jordan. I have visited Canada independently several times

Having previously worked at a Chinese computer parts company in California and a major German Beer company I joined Bales Worldwide in July 2004. I have travelled to the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America including lesser discovered destinations such as Macau, Guyana, Colombia and Dominica. My knowledge of Spanish and to a lesser extent Portuguese has enabled me to be a Bales Worldwide Tour Manager escorting clients through South America, a region of world that I have a particular fondness of. In my current role at Bales as Airline Coordinator and Worldwide Operations Executive my responsibilities include liaising with over 40 international airlines plus updating all visa requirements. I enjoy constantly learning about all parts of the world and playing an active role in coordinating our client trips to every single destination in our portfolio.

I have always had a passion for tourism, and I furthered my career by undertaking a Tourism Management degree at Bournemouth University. After working for Bales during my placement year, I immediately returned to Operations Department with enthusiasm to develop my knowledge and expertise in the travel industry, and I have now taken a new responsibility of ticketing. Alongside my previous travelling experiences to Europe, North Africa and Middle East, working for Bales has given me an opportunity to explore different places. My recent visit to Rio de Janeiro, an amazing city and a gave me a great introduction to South America. I am now looking forward to explore the continent in more depth in the forthcoming future.
