Tailor Made means exactly what it says……where you travel, how you travel, and what you do when you get there, is entirely down to you. Our role is simply to make it possible, and from the benefit of our vast experience, possibly add some suggestions of our own. We are happy to discuss individual holidays or tours for specialist groups. No matter how limited your knowledge of your chosen destination, we usually have someone in the Tailor Made department who has been there, and can help you put the itinerary together. Tailor Made Holiday Itineraries - Designed for you
From nostalgic trips following childhood or family footsteps, to fulfilling a long held ambition of seeing a tiger in the wild, to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, to visiting the Antarctic or sailing round Cape Horn, to a special birthday or anniversary holiday celebrated perhaps with a romantic visit to the Taj Mahal or the wonders of ancient Egypt – we can arrange it when you want, how you want and with any special extras you want. It doesn’t matter if you just want us to arrange a short cultural break of 2 or 3 days in a European capital, or to organise a month-long journey all over Asia; we are ready to help you plan it and provide you with a competitive price. On the dedicated Tailor made pages in this brochure we feature a variety of sample itineraries to give you some idea of what we can offer, but we are totally flexible and can adapt these to your personal requirements.

Attention to detail
We make use of our knowledge and experience to bring you the little extra touches that will make your holiday special. We can plan your visit to the Taj Mahal to coincide with the full moon, when Shah Jahan’s romantic masterpiece can be seen at its most ethereal. In Botswana we can organise for you to join the renowned naturalist Derek Solomon for his unique ‘Sounds of Africa’ experience, listening with an underwater hydrophone to the amazing sounds of hippo communicating with each other. You may find yourself walking through ancient Petra by candlelight or searching for caiman on the Amazon by torchlight – just two of the activities we can include in your holiday. If there is a special restaurant or spa treatment that should not be missed, then you can be assured that we will let you know about it. We plan all our itineraries with meticulous attention to detail to give you a holiday to remember.

Selected hotels
We can recommend the hotels that we feel will be most suitable for your trip. With a Tailor Made holiday it is often possible to stay in smaller, more personalised properties that we are unable to use for our set group departures. Some of these small, often luxurious, hotels have only a handful of rooms. You can enjoy the famous ‘riads’ of Morocco, for example, beautifully-restored private residences in traditional style with rooms full of character and charm, or you could stay at a colonial hacienda in the highlands of Ecuador or a traditional ‘ger’ in Mongolia. If luxury is what you are looking for, then we know the hotels that will fit the bill. Why nor pamper yourself with a stay at the unique Explora Lodges in Chile, where in addition to the luxurious accommodation the price includes all food and drink and a range of varied daily activities? Or indulge your senses with a spa treatment at the famous Oriental Hotel in Bangkok, consistently voted one of the world’s best hotels?

Travel at your own pace
You might like the look of one of our Bales Inspirational Journeys, or a suggested itinerary featured on a Tailor Made page, but feel on your own personalised itinerary you would like to stay longer in a one or two of the places featured, either to do more sightseeing or simply to relax. This presents no problem. Subject to flight , cruise ship or rail schedules, we can arrange this for you. Conversely, if you need to cover a destination in less time than shown on one of our itineraries, we can advise you how to maximise your enjoyment in the time available. We never forget that it is your holiday.
