Costa Rica may only be half the size of Ireland but is a paradise for anyone who marvels in the unspoilt natural world. A land made up of dense jungles, cloud forests, active volcanoes and pristine beaches, which for me, makes it a perfect holiday destination which leaves you wanting to return. The 'Ticos' (Costa Ricans) are wonderfully friendly and peace loving people and are so proud of their country it is a pleasure to be in their company. I loved Tortuguero, home of the green turtle, I missed the yearly nesting season (July-Oct) but to stand on their beach and watch in silence and darkness as the new born baby turtles attempt their perilous journey to the sea must be a truly memorable moment to treasure and one which I will experience, one day.
