Please find below the Privacy Policy for the Website operated by Bales. Bales treats the handling of personal data seriously. The Privacy Policy below details how Bales will treat your personal data after it has been collected by Bales through your use of the Website. Bales assures that it will only use your data as specified here and for its legitimate business reasons.

Collection and use of data

1. Unless otherwise provided in the Privacy Policy or the Terms of Use, Bales will not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes without your express consent. Bales will only pass your data to other third parties in accordance with this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use and the Booking Conditions, or if required to do so by law. Bales may disclose your data to certain permitted third parties, such as members of the Bales group, Bale’s own professional advisers who are bound by confidentiality codes, and when Bales is legally obliged to disclose your data.

2. Bales can obtain personal data from you (including your name, postal address, telephone number, email and, if booking online, your credit/debit card details in order to make payment and confirm the booking) from a number of different sources:

i. When you search for or request details on services or products from the Website, for example, requesting a brochure from Bales.

ii. When you book your holiday via the Website, or when you submit a completed Booking Form to Bales.

iii. Via unconditional data capture measures such as the use of cookies and studying the pages you read frequently (please see further below).

iv. Via your individual IP location. This is a necessary function of the Website that enables Bales to return details of searched holidays or tours that you have requested, and in order for Bales to diagnose problems with its server and to administer the Website.

3. Bales need your name, address and/or email address to that it can send out brochure orders to you and advise you of special offers and promotions it things may be of interest to you. Bales also requires this information about you, and others included in your group, in order to complete bookings made with it for your holiday.

4. In order to complete your booking, Bales will also need to collect information about you, and others included in your group, to pass to third parties (eg, relevant hotels, airlines, etc) for the purposes of booking your holiday. This may involve the transfer of information outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and by providing Bales with this information you provide your consent (and the consent of those included in your group) to transfer such information out the EEA. The information collected may include, but is not exclusively limited to, details such as your name, your address (in order to send the confirmation invoice and travel documentation to you), your email address and telephone number (if Bales needs to contact you about your booking urgently), and the same details of those in your party.

5. Bales uses ‘temporary’ cookies which are only used during the brochure request process. A cookie is a small piece of information sent by a web server to store on a web browser. This is useful for having the browser remember some specific information.

6. All the information provided to Bales by you on the Website is protected by a secure server. The secure server software, Secure Socket Layers (“SSL”), encrypts all information you enter before it is sent to Bales. The information is only de-crypted when it reaches our server. Bales also has a firewall in place to protect its internal information from the Internet.

7. You have the right to ask Bales not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. You also have the right to access information held about you by Bales. Your right to access can be exercised in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, as amended from time to time, and any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet Bale’s costs in providing you with details on the personal data we hold about you.

8. Bales operates in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and any amendments thereto.

By disclosing your personal information via the Website, over the telephone or via email or post you consent to the collection, storage and processing of your personal information by Bales in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use Policy and the Booking Conditions.
