Dar Loulema is an intimate riad, tucked down an alley located just off the main square of Essaouira and near the port and ramparts. Originally an 18th century mansion, the décor is Moorish minimalism with something of a colonial feel about it. The riad-style hotel has 7 individually decorated rooms, 2 sitting rooms as well as a Moroccan saloon and a small dining room. Breakfast is served in the guests' rooms, in any of the saloons or on the roof terrace. There are a number of excellent restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. The rooftop terrace offers stunning views of the Essaouira and its medina.
