The Sofitel Santa Clara was built at the beginning of the 17th century and was originally a convent. After being used as a charity hospital for some time, the building then fell into disrepair, before the Sofitel group turned it into the first class hotel that it is today. The hotel has 136 rooms and suites, some with views of the Caribbean. The hotel, which is located in the historic old quarter, has a large outside swimming pool, 3 restaurants and a bar.
