The excellent Waku Lodge, located right beside the Canaima Lagoon, faces spectacular waterfalls. Although there are only 10 rooms, the complex is set amidst extensive and well-tended tropical gardens and lawns. Each room has a tiled patio area with seating and a wide hammock for relaxation. Rooms are fully-tiled and pleasantly decorated. The bathrooms have a glass-sided shower and sink with a range of amenities. The restaurant is housed in an open-sided thatched building. There is a lounge area next to reception which doubles in the evening as a bar, and which has a selection of books on Venezuela and the Gran Sabana.
