Larsens Tented Camp
Larsens Tented Camp is set in lush lawns on the bank of the Uaso Nyiro, a river in Samburu National Reserve. Tranquillity and nature embrace you the minute you enter Larsens with the river being the perfect stage for an endless pageant of wildlife - elephants rolling and trumpeting in the shallows, timid impala nervously drinking, baboons and vervet monkeys swinging through the canopy of trees. There are 17 spacious airy tents all raised on wooden platforms, each being named after a bird. Each tent has casual colonial elegance, hot showers and a surprising degree of comfort with dressing gowns in the tent and comfort able leather safari chairs. The dining tent is open on three sides and faces the river. A first class dinner elegantly served by candlelight on tables set with silver and Larsens china. In the bar, Eric Larsens old cabin trunks and pith helmets add to the period flavour while you play backgammon or chess on his original boards.

Directions from Dorking BR Station:
Turn left at the main road (A24) and take a right into London Road as you reach the Esso garage, bringing you to the High Street. Turn right and continue onto South Street at a Y junction that is the start of the one way system. Junction road is on the right hand side, past Waitrose. The walk will take about 15 minutes. Alternatively take a taxi from the station and the fare is around £4.00.
