The Oberoi Clarkes Hotel in Simla was built during the British period. With just 39 rooms, it has a friendly atmosphere, and is located about 10 minutes’ walk from the Mall, Shimla’s central pedestrianised area. There is a bar and restaurant, and an outside terrace with seating, offering views of the city.

A Nile cruise differs from a Mediterranean or ocean cruise in several ways. Okonjima Lodge is situated in the Omboroko Mountains, which form part of the Waterberg Plateau. The main attraction of this lodge is the Leopard and Cheetah that are resident on the farm. Okonjima is home to the Africat foundation, which is dedicated to preserving the big cats of Namibia, at Okonjima special emphasis is placed on cheetah and leopard. Okuti Camp is located in Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the northeastern part of the Okavango Delta, positioned under shade trees at the edge of the Xakanaxa lagoon. This ecosystem comprises shallow flood plains and papyrus lined waterways contrasting with dense riverine forest. It is a small and private camp catering for a maximum of 22 guests, accommodated in insect-proofed thatched chalets with en suite bathrooms. Each chalet faces west and overlooks one of the Delta’s most spectacular lagoons with stunning African sunsets. Camp Okuti offers a choice of two game viewing activities. Game drives in open safari vehicles where an abundance of large mammals can be found or powerboat excursions towards the upper delta, where, during breeding season, large concentrations of herons and storks may be seen at their nesting and breeding sites.

Outside Ulan Bator accommodation is in the traditional circular tents or 'Gers', made from canvas stretched around a fixed wooden framework. Facilities are very basic, each ger containing 4 beds, a wood stove, table and chairs, but little else - the communal shower block is separate and there is a central dining tent. Hot water is not always available. This tour is therefore only suited to more adventurous travellers who are prepared to accept these basic facilities, which are in fact the best available in these destinations. Bales are pleased to advise you that we have secured accommodation based on 2 passengers only in each ger instead of 4. Naturally this has resulted in higher costs but we feel most of our passengers would prefer this arrangement. 

The Orla Copacabana Hotel is situated overlooking the famous Copacabana Beach and is a short walk from Ipanema Beach. The hotel was built in 2001 and has 115 rooms, all with private facilities. The hotel also has a restaurant and leisure facilities include a rooftop fitness centre and small heated pool. 

Oscars Waterfront is a small, luxurious boutique property with a stunning location overlooking the marina of yachts of Port Fairy. Each of the 7 rooms and suites are individually decorated and offer a pleasing array of amenities all with superb views, whilst the wood burning fires, stunning veranda and gourmet breakfasts add a personal touch.
