Your accommodation in Iquitos will be at the Explorama Lodge, which consists of simple, single-storey, thatched timber buildings raised on stilts, joined by covered walkways. Rooms are located on both banks of a small side river and connected by a bridge. Bedrooms have twin beds with mosquito nets but toilets, showers and washing facilities (cold water) are housed separately at various points in the lodge complex. There are no electrical sockets. There is a central reception, restaurant and bar area. Kerosene lamps provide light after dark. Meals are simple, fresh and filling, featuring river fish, rice salads and fresh fruit plus tea or coffee. Included meals on the extension are full board in Iquitos, full breakfast only in Lima. There are no exchange facilities.
