Africa boasts some of the world's finest wildlife reserves and national parks against a backdrop of endless skies, barren deserts and rugged mountains. Etsoha National Park in Namibia has endless wilderness and classic waterhole viewing. The Okavango Delta or great Botswana reserves and Zambian parks offer superb top end safaris with unique experiences such as mokoro rideas or walking safaris. Kruger is probably the most famous reserve in Africa and can be combined brilliantly with the landscapes, culture and lifestyles of the rest of South Africa. last but not least East Africa (Tanzania and kenya) has the classic Serengeti and Masai Mara parks and the iconic Ngorongoro Crater - the perfect locations to spot the Big Five.
India's jungle landscapes contain bison, leopard, deer, crocodile, wild dog, monkeys, elephants and the Royal Bengal Tiger. If you only have a short time visit Ranthambore, near Jaipur, or for longer, more in depth viewing try Kanha or Bhandavgarh. Chitwan in Nepal will offer tiger viewing from Elephant back and the famous one-horned rhino - the latter can be seen also in Kaziranga, Assam. Not to be outdone the healthy elephant and leopard populations of Sri Lanka can be combined with the largest of all creatures, the Blue Whale, with increasingly good sightings being seen off the south and east coasts of the island. Elsewhere in Asia head to Borneo to see the efforts being put in to protect the dwindling populations of Orangutans.
The Galapagos Islands are justifiable famous as one of the world's great wildlife hotspots so above or below the water, as well as on land, there is plenty to see here all year long from Sea Iguanas, penguins, albatrosses, sea lions, seals, dolphinsand tortoises to the comical blue-footed booby. On the mainland Costa Rica is a wildlife hotspot and other fine wildlife opportunities can be found on the Amazonian regions either from river boats or jungle lodges.
The west coast of Canada is famous for its marine life and bear populations and no wildlife round up would be complete without a mention of the wonderful opportunities and views you will get on an Antarctic expedition voyage - a once in a lifetime experience.
