Pyongyang rose from the ashes of the Korean War, rebuilt by the Russians and Chinese and moulded by the ideology of its late ‘Great Leader’ Kim Il Sung. Tour the cultural landmarks of this most enigmatic of cities, visiting Kim Il Sung Square, Mansudae Fountain Park and the towering presence of the Mansudae Monuments, en route to the impressive edifices of the Arch of Triumph and the 170 metre Juche Tower. After drive to Manyongdae, the birthplace of Kim Il Sung and still a place of pilgrimage for many North Koreans, before stopping at the Martyrs’ Cemetery and Kwangbop Temple.....

Held to celebrate a variety of state occasions, these most remarkable of events and a form of gymnastic art, present a unique spectacle of symmetry and a magnificently elaborate exercise in human performance. These games involve up to 40,000 children who are schooled to create a series of large ‘moving’ images from coloured cards, whilst thousands more gymnasts and flag waving participants present a scene of colour, pageantry and nationalistic fervour. Great prestige is attached to the honour of performing in the ceremonies. Please note that at any stage, beyond the control of Bales Worldwide, the dates for the Arirang Mass Games can change or even be cancelled at short notice. There is also no official guarantee that tourists will be allowed to witness the performance.....

Located in the centre of Kaesong City, the Folk Custom Hotel is built in original Korean style. Rooms are set around an open courtyard and consist of a central seating area with a bedroom to the left and right of this. The bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and generally furniture is minimal with beds for example being futon style and therefore low down. The hotel only serves traditional Korean cuisine.....
