"I highly recommend a few nights in Kuala Lumpur, a vibrant city stretching from the gleaming Petronas Towers to the low flying palms trees of Masjid Jamek Mosque. There are many regions of Peninsula Malaysia to include, and I would start with the cool hill station of Cameron Islands which has jungle walks, tea plantations and gorgeous spicy India food. "

Borneo’s tribal diversity is made up of some 33 ethnic tribes, of which the Iban is the largest. Concentrated around the Sarawak region, these once feared headhunters, were formerly known as the Sea Dayaks, occupying longhouses along Borneo’s rivers. Traditionally animistic, they have embraced a unique mix of Christianity and spiritualism and many of their ceremonies are still celebrated in conjunction with their new found beliefs. Descendents of settlers who arrived along Borneo’s coast during the late 17th century, the Iban have retained many of their cultural traditions. They are skilled makers of longboats and famed for their woven cloth, the Pua Kumbu, once associated with ancient religions and head hunting.
