Things to do and see

TEMPLES OF ANGKOR

As well as the better known temples such as Angkor Thom, Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm, there are numerous smaller sites worth visiting. The 12th century complex at Preah Khan is a wonderful place to visit, the capital of Emperor Jayavarman VII's before the completion of Angkor Thom. Further afield, the Roluos group of temples are some of the best preserved of the early temples (9th century), built of brick, with sandstone niches and doorways. Your individual programme, to include local community life, can be discussed with your guide on arrival and this can also include a cruise on the Tonle Sap Lake.....

La Villa

La Villa is a converted private residence set in a colonial-period mansion just across the Sangker River from central Battambang. Originally built in the 1930s by a tradesman from Battambang, the house has seen many changes, but its restoration in the last few years has seen the creation of a superb boutique hotel.
