The most interesting flight of my life was over Islas San Blas. The islands are spectacular and appeared much like the Maldives but are visited by only a small number of tourists. From the landing at the airport I was taken by dugout canoe to a traditional Kuna Indian town. The Kunas are very hospitable and also very talented in their handicrafts and fishing. I highly recommend travelling sooner rather than later – before modern traditional Panamanian life begins to take greater effect amongst the indigenous people.
