LA LANCHA

Casa Palopo
Casa Palopo is a luxury boutique hotel located in the hills above Santa Catarina Palopo village, on the shores of Lake Atitlán. The property has just 9 rooms and suites, as well as 2 further rooms in a villa above the main building. The villa’s rooms can be rented separately or the whole villa can be occupied exclusively, ideal for families or friends travelling together. The 6.8 Palopo Restaurant offers superb international cuisine with a Guatemalan influence, and its veranda gives wonderful views over the lake, and the three volcanoes, where sunsets can be magical. NB Please note that the villa is around 150 steps above the main building, and is therefore unsuitable for those with mobility difficulties. ....

The La Lancha Lodge is one of Francis Ford Coppola’s resorts and has just 10 guest 'casitas.' The lodge overlooks the beautiful Lake Petén Itza, and is located in the forest around 30 minutes’ drive from the Mayan site of Tikal. The casitas all have private bathrooms and are brightly decorated with native artworks and Balinese furniture. There is an open-air restaurant under thatch roof, with traditional Guatemalan dishes a speciality. There is a bar and swimming pool, and activities available include hiking, bird watching, swimming in the lake and fishing.....

The Mayan Inn has been welcoming guests since 1932 when the late Alfred S. Clark first opened the Inn. Mr Clark searched the country for colonial chests, figures, mirrors, chairs and benches creating a museum of Spanish art for it's guests to enjoy. Every Room is its own museum.
