El Salvador Luxury Holidays

"A perfect destination for those seeking an authentic Central American experience – El Salvador offers mountains, forests, volcanoes, beaches and culture. Most people visit as part of a longer multi-country tour but there is enough to keep you busy for 2 weeks in this country alone. Distances between sites are fairly short and for the most part the roads are of very good quality. Welcome to a small but beautiful country. The Mayan World Escorted Journey begins in El Salvador with a stay in San Salvador before continuing to the sleepy colonial town of Suchitoto."

Staff Favourites

Wandering through markets and trying local food (and avoiding tourist shops) is one of the most enjoyable things I do whilst on holiday. I have fond memories of trying the most famous Salvadoran snack, the ‘pupusa’ in a local market. The local found it almost as interesting watching the gringo experiment with these corn tortillas. My favourite was ‘pupusa de queso’ (cheese). - Steve Lidgey
