Some 10,000 years after the final retreat of the last great Ice Age, Alaska still finds itself locked in the steely embrace of ice giants, with more than 100,000 glaciers still carving and surging their way across its vast wilderness. Amongst the towering peaks of the Alaska Range there are immense mountain glaciers, including the Kahiltna Glacier in Denali National Park and the magnificent Ruth Glacier, considered one of the most impressive in the country, whilst the south east coast presents the remarkable spectacle of tidewater glaciers, constantly releasing giant monoliths of shimmering blue ice into the cold waters. Many of Alaska’s stunning glaciers can be accessed by plane, boat and even on foot, presenting a vast array of one of nature’s most dazzling creations.....

Situated approximately 386 km north of Anchorage, Denali National Park was declared an international biosphere reserve in 1976 and home to the towering magnificence of Mount McKinley, this renowned refuge covers some 6 million acres. Offering a sanctuary to grizzlies, wolves, caribou and Dall sheep it presents the visitor with a panorama of glaciated valleys and blanketed slopes that lie amidst a sub-arctic landscape. The best time to visit the park is between mid-May and mid-September.....

The Grande Denali Lodge with its mountain setting, offers stunning views of the Alaska Range and Nenana River Canyon. The lodge has 165 spacious guest rooms, gift shop, guest laundry and tour desk to arrange your park activities. Room amenities include television, telephone, coffee maker, air-conditioning, hairdryer and en suite bathroom. Bales recommend the Mountain View rooms to take full advantage of the lodge's setting.....

The Cleft of the Rock Bed & Breakfast in Tok has a selection of individual wooden cabins on offer as accommodation. Each one varies in style, but in the main they have a fridge, television and private bathroom. They also accommodate guests in the main house where the bathroom facilities will be shared. ....

The Skagway Inn is located downtown within the Klondike Gold Rush National Park Historic District and is within walking distance to all attractions. There are 10 rooms, however, please note that not all of the rooms have an attached bathroom. Hairdryers are available on request. There is a restaurant serving a range of Alaskan tapas.....

Bear Lodge is located on the Lutak inlet. The lodge is fairly basic and has just 4 rooms with bathrooms.....

The Raven Hotel lies nestled at the base of St. Elias Mountains and located in the village of Haines Junction. Each of the 12 rooms have an en suite bathroom, hairdryer, television and telephone. There is a restaurant serving a range of cuisine.....
