OKAVANGO DELTA

The largest inland delta on Earth, the Okavango is a fascinating network of lagoons and channels that each year floods across some 15,000 square kilometres of the Kalahari, turning the area into an abundant haven for game, fish and birds. Located in the midst of the Delta is the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, a haven of unparalleled beauty. CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

Famous for its large herds of elephants, Chobe lies sandwiched between the life giving waters of the Chobe River and the Savuti Channel. The second largest park in Botswana, it boasts one of the greatest concentrations of game found in Africa. It can enjoy a staggering array of wildlife and the area around Savuti in particular is renowned for its predators.....

LINYANTI CONCESSION

Covering some 275,000 acres on Chobe’s western boundary, Linyanti encompasses two thirds of the famous Savuti Channels, presenting a rich landscape of expansive floodplains, open savannah and lush forest, a haven for bird and animal life, including large herds of elephants. This private reserve offers exclusive wildlife encounters along the Linyanti River, including the possibility of dramatic zebra migrations between November and March.....

CENTRAL KALAHARI GAME RESERVE

This unique reserve was actually founded to protect the traditional environment of the San Bushmen, affording them a haven of shimmering grasslands and desert pans in the heart of Botswana. The second largest game reserve in the world, covering nearly 53,000 square kilometres, it is a haven for a rich diversity of wildlife, including rare wild dog, aardwolf, honey badger and an amazing abundance of birdlife.....

MAKGADIKGADI NATIONAL PARK

Once the centre of a great lake, these remarkable saltpans are believed to be the largest in the world. During the annual rainy season it transforms into a vast expanse of life giving water. At its peak the pans can boast massive numbers of pelicans, and flamingos, whose sheer weight of numbers can turn the surface a deep shade of pink, whilst the rich grasslands to the west become inundated with migrating herds of zebra, springbok and wildebeest.....

XIGERA TENTED CAMP OKAVANGO DELTA

Xigera Camp is a waterland paradise in the Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta offering 8 luxurious tented rooms with ensuite facilities and an outdoor shower. DUMA TAU CAMP LINYATI RESERVE

All 10 spacious tents at Duma Tau are raised off the ground and are under thatch with canvas walls. The bathroom facilities are ensuite, with hot and cold running water. Each room has an additional outside shower. There is a dining room, pub, lounge, plunge pool and a special guest toilet with a fantastic view! The region has all the habitat diversity to make it a haven for wildlife. The camp is located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve which borders onto the western boundary of Chobe National Park. The camp overlooks a large hippo-filled lagoon. The source of the Savuti Channel is close to the camp and game drives along the Savuti are one of the highlights of the camp. Activities are diverse and allow guests time on the water, on land and occasionally on foot.....

Okuti Camp

Okuti Camp is located in Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the northeastern part of the Okavango Delta, positioned under shade trees at the edge of the Xakanaxa lagoon. This ecosystem comprises shallow flood plains and papyrus lined waterways contrasting with dense riverine forest. It is a small and private camp catering for a maximum of 22 guests, accommodated in insect-proofed thatched chalets with en suite bathrooms. Each chalet faces west and overlooks one of the Delta’s most spectacular lagoons with stunning African sunsets. Camp Okuti offers a choice of two game viewing activities. Game drives in open safari vehicles where an abundance of large mammals can be found or powerboat excursions towards the upper delta, where, during breeding season, large concentrations of herons and storks may be seen at their nesting and breeding sites. ....

Jacana Camp

Lush Jacana Camp is situated in a permanently flooded region of the private Jao Concession of the Okavango Delta. A true water camp, it represents the essence of the Delta, with year-round mokoro safaris as well as island bush walks and, water level permitting, motorboat cruises. In fact, when the flood levels are at their peak we are able to motorboat from the airstrip to the lodge, a truly surreal camp arrival! Jacana Camp has 5 Meru-style tents. Each tent is on a wooden deck overlooking the floodplains and has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and shower. The bathroom is enclosed but roofless, allowing for showers by starlight. The camp has a plunge pool for cooling off from the midday sun. The main dining area is on an elevated wooden deck between two magnificent sycamore fig trees and surrounded by dense wild date palms. Downstairs, there is a cosy pub and lounge with an area perfect for an open fire under the stars....

Edo’s Camp

Edo’s Camp, operated by Ker & Downey, is located in a 120,000 hectare game conservancy, in the western Kalahari Desert. This private sanctuary is home to six of Botswana’s endangered white rhino population, as well as numerous species of plants, birds and mammals of which many are unique to the region. Also resident are the truly indigenous people of Southern Africa, the San, who provide a fascinating cultural perspective of traditional life. This remote camp overlooks a waterhole and accommodates guests in four two bedded luxury tents set on decks under thatch with a private bathroom. Island of Siankaba

The Islands of Siankaba comprises of two densely forested sand islands in the Zambezi River near the Siansimba Rapids. A classic forested retreat, six secluded chalets linked by a footbridge to a haute cuisine restaurant, all on two islands in the Zambezi between the Victoria Falls and Chobe The two islands are linked by a suspension bridge and overhead walkway in the tree canopy. The Islands of Siankaba has been developed as a luxurious tented camp, exclusively sleeping just twelve guests. The uniquely designed chalets are constructed of teak and custom-made canvas tenting and are raised well above ground levels in the tree canopy. Private balconies extend over the river. They are linked by a winding over-head walkway, keeping guests safe and protecting the fragile riverine environment. Finishing is of an extremely high standard using imported fittings to compliment the natural feel of the construction materials used. ....

Kanana Camp

Kanana Camp, the newest camp in the Ker & Downey portfolio, set deep in the Delta amongst grass covered Islands on the Xudam River. The camp consists of eight large, twin bedded safari style tents with sewn in floors and windows built on plinths overlooking the Delta. Each has a private bathroom with hot and cold running water (24 hours), shower and flush toilet. Activities at the camp include game drives, game viewing in Mokoros (local canoes), nature walks (at the camp’s discretion), night drives, power boating, sunset rides and fishing. You can also relax at the camp’s plunge pool. The dining and sitting areas are raised on decking encircling an ancient fig tree and also afford tremendous views of the area. ....

Xigera Camp

Nestled in a magnificent riverine forest, Xigera Camp consists of 10 luxuriously furnished tented rooms with en-suite facilities and outdoor shower. Each room is raised off the ground on a wooden deck offering superb views of the seasonal floodplain and waterhole. Meals and drinks are enjoyed under the thatch of the raised lounge, pub and dining area overlooking a permanently flowing channel. A traditional boma offers alternative dining under the African stars. Wooden walkways wind through the forest connecting the rooms to the main area. There is a plunge pool for cooling off and relaxation. The wooden footbridge, a feature unique to Xigera, connects Xigera to the next island and is often used by lion and leopard moving between the islands, providing guests with great viewing opportunities. Birding in the area is excellent, with Pel’s Fishing Owl, Slaty Egret, Wattled Crane, African Skimmers and a host of eagles, vultures, raptors and kingfishers to be found. ....

Shinde Island Camp

Shinde Camp comprises of eight twin bedded classic safari tents each with en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water and flush toilet. Every possible comfort has been catered for – from mosquito proofing, generated electricity, and a private viewing deck through to a handy flashlight! Each tent, strategically positioned, offers splendid views, whether across the Delta’s mysterious waterways or open grasslands. Accommodation is generally twin share on comfortable three quarter beds, however double accommodation is available on request. Enjoy relaxing by the swimming pool between game viewing. Other activities include power boating, sunset rides, game fishing and a boat trip to nearby Gadikwe Island roost.....

Khwai Discoverer Camp

Discoverer Camp accommodation is in 6.3m x 3.5m walk-in Meru-style tents (maximum of two guests per tent). The tents are airy and designed to recreate the accommodation style of the early explorers, with richly coloured teak director chairs and simplistic camp features. Separate bedside tables with 12v reading lamps, canvas and wood wardrobes, bathrobes, comfortable beds, flushing toilets and mirrors are provided. Camp amenities (conditioning shampoo, soap, shower gel and body lotion) are elegantly displayed for use and private, en suite separate toilet and shower areas are part of the main structure. ....

Toka Leya Camp

Overlooking the mighty Zambezi River lies Toka Leya Camp. The camp consists of 12 safari-style tents, each en-suite with a view of the magnificent Zambezi River and some of its islands. The camp's dining and bar area is set beneath a shaded canopy of trees overlooking the River and a swimming pool. Activities include a tour of the Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, game drives within Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, river cruises and guided nature walks. Other activities on offer in the area at an additional charge include sunset cruises, helicopter flights, micro-lighting, canoeing, jet boating, white water rafting and fishing.
