China regards Guilin as its most picturesque city, and most of the world agrees. The city of Guilin is split up due to the 2 beautiful rivers that meander through it. Although these rivers make the city interesting and unique it is the mountains which circle the city that makes it truly spectacular to visit.
Guilin is located in the north east of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Those visiting Guilin, must be prepared for a humid, sub-tropical environment, and may even want to bring a rain coat as this is a monsoon zone.
This city is an ideal place to see some of China's plains, lakes and rivers, as Guilin offers all of these things. For those who are interested in exploring, look out for Guilins karst caves and stone forest which is just a small feature of Guilin.
When in Guilin take a trip to the Longji Terrace Fields, that provides its visitors with a sight unlike any other. The fields are terraced amoungst the hill side which creates spectacular sights. The best time to visit is at sun set when the sun reflects off the ground to create colours or red, orange, blue and green (stand high up for the best views)…
