South Africa: Tailor Made Holidays

Tailor Made Holidays, Discover South Africa

Introduction to South Africa

From the vibrant streets of Cape Town the landscapes of the Cape region weave through a series of rich panoramas, from the abundant natural beauty of the Cape Peninsula, through its fertile winelands to the southern coast, where the annual migrations make this one of the richest whale coasts in the world. The Southern Cape encompasses some of the most visually stunning vistas in all of Africa, a region infused with the rich history and colonial grandeur of this remarkable continent. Its world famous vineyards in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch offer up some of the finest wines in the world, whilst the celebrated ‘Garden Route’, from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, presents one of the most scenic drives in southern Africa. Separated from the interior by a continuous chain of high mountains, it takes you through tangled hardwood forests and green pastures, along rugged coastlines that pass beach communities and glittering lagoons, and across a landscape of quite outstanding natural beauty. The game parks of South Africa present some of the largest reserves in Africa. From captivating desert landscapes, to sweeping Bushveld and open savannahs, these remarkable refuges are home to a dazzling array of wildlife, as well as some of the continent’s most culturally important remains. KwaZulu-Natal presents us with some of the richest cultural and scenic diversity in the country. Following the Indian Ocean, from the Eastern Cape to Mozambique, its heartland is littered with the famous battlefields of lore that signified the bloody struggle between the Zulu, Boer and British armies for control of this region.
