Botswana’s beautiful scenery, prolific wildlife and private reserves make it one of Africa’s top safari destinations. Remote luxury camps in the wilderness allow you to view the game in the most natural of surroundings. The jewel in Botswana’s crown is undoubtedly the Okavango Delta, where you can enjoy wildlife viewing on foot, from open-topped safari vehicles or from a mokoro dugout canoe. And what viewing! - free-roaming herds of buffalo, zebra, antelope and elephant, as well as lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah, and an incredible 550 species of birds. Few natural wonders can match the awesome splendour of the Victoria Falls as they tumble 300 feet into the gorge below. Known by the locals as Mosi-Oa-Tunya – The Smoke That Thunders, your holiday would not be complete without admiring this spectacle, which can even be viewed from your hotel.

Day 1
Evening departure on British Airways from London Heathrow to Johannesburg.
Day 2
Connect with your flight on Air Botswana to Maun. On arrival, transfer by light aircraft to Chitabe Camp, a luxurious eight roomed, tented camp built on one of the most beautiful islands in the Okavango Delta where you will spend 2 nights. A combination of open floodplains, wooded islands, and lagoons in the surrounding area sets the scene for a wide variety of wildlife. Once you have settled in, go on an afternoon game drive in an open topped 4x4 vehicle.
Day 3
Go on a morning and afternoon game viewing activity. Game viewing at Chitabe is superb, with a good chance of spotting elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, reedbuck, giraffe, impala, zebra, buffalo and hippo. Depending on the time of year, wild dogs are also resident in the area. Night drives can be very rewarding with good sightings of the rarer nocturnal animals.
Day 4
Transfer by light aircraft to Xigera Camp, a waterland paradise in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve where you will spend 2 nights. Permanent water all year round allows one to enjoy an unparalleled variety of activities including foot safaris, mokoro trips, game drives and powerboat outings in total privacy. Paradise for avid birdwatchers, Xigera is home to Pels fishing owl, African skimmers, slaty egrets, wattled crane, lesser jacana and a host of eagles, vultures, raptors and kingfishers. It also boasts one of the highest densities of the rare and elusive sitatunga antelope found anywhere in the Okavango Delta. Go on an afternoon game viewing activity.
Day 5
Xigera has something for everyone in an area where there are no other Moremi camps. Enjoy a true Delta experience while you sit back in a mokoro (dugout canoe) and silently glide through the wonders of the tranquil Okavango waterways observed by a myriad of delta creatures. Watch the sun setting and the birds gliding home to roost from a motorboat on the Xigera Lagoon. Observe the wildlife and unique delta scenery from the comfort of an open topped Land Rover or, for the adventurous, track animals on foot. Or simply take in the beautiful sunrise from your comfortable bed while sipping your morning tea or coffee.
Day 6
Transfer by light aircraft to DumaTau, located in a private 125 000 hectare Linyanti Wildlife Reserve which borders onto the western boundary of Chobe National Park. The camp is built on raised boardwalks under a shady grove of mangosteen trees, overlooking a large hippo-filled lagoon within the Linyanti waterways. Spend 3 nights here. The source of the Savuti Channel is close to the camp and game drives along the Savuti are one of the highlights of the camp. Go on an afternoon game viewing activity.
All the ten spacious luxury tented rooms at DumaTau are raised off the ground and are under thatch with canvas walls, allowing guests to enjoy the night sounds of Africa from the comfort of their rooms. The bathroom facilities are en-suite, with hot and cold running water. Each room has an additional outside shower. There is a dining room, pub, lounge, plunge pool and a special guest toilet with a fantastic view! The region has all the habitat diversity to make it a haven for wildlife.
Day 7 & Day 8
Activities are diverse and allow guests time on the water, on land and occasionally on foot. Day and night game drives are conducted in open 4x4 vehicles. Elephants are one of the area's biggest attractions, especially in the dry winter months, along with the red lechwe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, sable, roan, eland, giraffe, baboon, monkey, warthog, crocodile and buffalo. Then there are the predators - lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena, the nocturnal animals - bush babies, springhare, aardwolf, serval, genet, pangolin and the smaller predators. Birding is great here - from the Okavango "specials", such as slaty egret, whiterumped babblers and wattled cranes, to the bushveld species.
Day 9
Following your morning game viewing activity you will be transferred by light aircraft to Kasane. Transfer across the Zambezi River to Livingstone in Zambia. Spend 2 nights at the River Club, located on the banks of the Zambezi. The afternoon is at leisure to partake in any of the activities available.
Day 10
The Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is arguably the greatest waterfall in the world. Daily trips to the Falls are a highlight. Boating to the Zambezi River's islands provides relaxed afternoon activities, and fishing and sundowner trips are offered. The Zambezi National Park is located just across the river, and elephants can be seen on the river bank. A rich bird life is found in the area. Hippos are regularly sighted (and heard) along the river's edge.
Day 11
Transfer to the airport to fly to Johannesburg. Connect with your flight on British Airways to Heathrow.
Day 12
Early morning arrival at London Heathrow.
