Depart from London Gatwick by Mexicana Airlines to Mexico City (12 hours 20 minutes). On arrival in the evening, you will be met and transferred to the Holiday Inn Mexico City Zocalo for 3 nights.

Morning sightseeing in Mexico City, visiting Xochimilco, the Anthropological Museum and the Historic Centre. A boxed lunch is included at Xochimilco on this day.

Today you will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and also the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon at Teotihucan.

Leave Mexico City early this morning, for the full day’s drive to Oaxaca. Stop en route at the colourful city of Puebla. From Puebla to Oaxaca, the scenery is very pleasant. Stay in Oaxaca for 3 nights at Casa Conzatti.

Your sightseeing today will include the hilltop temple of Monte Alban and a tour of Oaxaca, including its Regional Museum and the magnificent Church of Santo Domingo.

Visit Mitla and Teotitlan del Valle to visit the famous weavers. Also visit Santa Maria del Tule.

A further days travelling through the beautiful and interesting Sierra Madre del Sur to Chiapa de Corzo. Overnight at La Ceiba.

Morning boat ride seeing the impressive Sumidero Canyon. Continue to San Cristobal de la Casas, where on arrival, you will have a tour of the town. Overnight at the Mansion del Valle.

From San Cristobal you transfer by road to Palenque. En route you will visit the town of San Juan Chamula, a centre of local culture most notable for its fascinating blend of Catholic and indigenous religions. Stay at the Hotel Ciudad Real Palenque for 2 nights.

In the morning you will visit the Mayan ruins at Palenque. The afternoon is free.

Depart for the city of Campeche and have a tour here. Overnight at the Hotel Plaza Campeche.

After breakfast, transfer to Uxmal for a tour of the ruins there including the Pyramid of the Wizard. Afterwards, continue to Merida, for a tour of this city. Overnight at the Holiday Inn Merida.

You will have an early start this morning as you head to Chichen Itza, one of the ‘New Seven Wonders of the World’. After your sightseeing you will have some free time before continuing to Playa del Carmen and stay 2 nights at the Las Palapas (or similar).
