Morning departure from London Heathrow by Thai Airways International via Bangkok (11 hours 20 minutes) to Chiang Rai (approximate flying time 1 hour 20 minutes) in northern Thailand.

Arriving in northern Thailand this morning, transfer to the remote and beautiful Golden Triangle, for a stay at the Imperial Golden Triangle Hotel.

With a free morning to relax in this spectacular setting at the meeting point of the Mekong and Ruak rivers, you may like to visit the fascinating Opium Museum, before an afternoon visit to the nearby villages of the Akha and Yao hill tribes.

Boarding the boat to Luang Say today sail down the captivating Mekong, crossing into Laos and enjoying the scenic majesty of rural life along the banks of this most mystical of rivers. Overnight at the Luang Say Lodge in Pakbeng, affording a charming riverside stay on the banks of the Mekong.

After an opportunity this morning to visit the market in Pakbeng, continue your journey by boat, visiting the extraordinary caves of Pak Ou, with its hundreds of Buddha statues. Continue to Luang Prabang for your stay at the Villa Santi Hotel.

The jewel of Indochina and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995, the ancient royal city of Luang Prabang has dozens of temples and is a delight to explore on foot. Sightseeing this morning includes the impressive Wat Xieng Thong and the sacred hill of Phu Sii with its spectacular panoramic vista across the city. This afternoon head out of the city to visit a nearby H’mong hilltribe village.

Fly to the Laotian capital of Vientiane (40 minutes) for your stay at the Green Park Hotel.

Vientiane is a charming city, with an intriguing mix of Loatian and French influences. Today visit the important monument of Pha That Luang, the Wat Phra Keo Museum and Wat Si Saket, the oldest temple left in the city. Free afternoon with an optional excursion to the extraordinary sculptures at Buddha Park.

Flying to Phnom Penh (1 hour 40 minutes) transfer to the Sunway Hotel and enjoy a free afternoon, with an optional trip available to the emotive site of the infamous Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, a memorial to the horrors of Pol Pot’s despotic regime.

A morning tour of the city takes in the spectacular Royal Palace and the National Museum, before taking an evening flight to Siem Reap (55 minutes), the spectacular setting of Khmer Temples of Angkor. Stay at the Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa.

Surely one of the most magnificent archaeological sites in South East Asia, the iconic remains of Angkor present you with two days of breathtaking imagery. From the majesty of the Bayon and Ta Prohm, to the captivating setting of Angkor Wat itself, your guide can also take you to further remote ruins.
