Depart London Gatwick this morning by Virgin Atlantic flight to Havana. On
arrival in the afternoon, we will be met by our Cuban Tour Manager and transferred
to the Hotel NH Parque Central, situated in Old Havana

Morning tour of Old Havana, taking in some of the captivating delights of its
Spanish colonial grandeur. The afternoon is free.

A full day’s trip to the western province of Pinar del Rio and the spectacular
karst mountain landscapes of the Vinales Valley affords an opportunity to visit the
small and colourful town of Vinales. Lunch at a local finca is included. We will also
have time to tour a cigar factory and rum factory before returning to the hotel.

The day is free to enjoy the sights and sounds of Havana

We take an early morning flight to the east of the island, and the sumptuous
city of Santiago where we stay at the Melia Hotel. Afternoon panoramic tour of the
city, visiting the Museum House of Diego Velazquez, the former home of the city’s
Spanish founder, and now a rich repository of its colonial heritage

Further exploration of Santiago’s vibrant charms and cultural treasures,
including the magnificent Morro Castle, an imposing Renaissance style fortress that
guards the entrance to the bay and features on UNESCO’S World Heritage List

Depart Santiago by road this morning, our destination, the lively city of
Camaguey, stopping en route for lunch in Bayamo. Overnight at the Colon Hotel (or
similar). An optional rickshaw ride around the city can be arranged locally.

Drive via the town of Moron before continuing to the colonial gem of Trinidad
where we stay at the Iberostar Grand Hotel.

A morning walking tour of Trinidad affords a fascinating insight into Cuba’s colonial heritage, including visits to the museum and a traditional family home. Continuing to the UNESCO Heritage Site of the Valle del Los Ingenios, the ruined sugar mills present an evocative reminder of Cuba’s 19th century past. After stopping to take in the views at Mirador del Valle, lunch will be taken at the Manaca Iznaga Restaurant, in sight of its famous watchtower.

Leave Trinidad after breakfast, for the road journey to Havana airport (journey time around 5 hours). Depart in the late afternoon by Virgin Atlantic flight to London.
