Morning flight to Ushuaia, where after a brief visit of the world’s
southernmost city, embark on the MS Nordnorge

The crossing of the Drake Passage takes around 36 hours.
Talks on the wildlife of Antarctica, the history of exploration and the
guidelines of the region that must be observed, will be given during
these days at sea before the excursions commence. Explore the South
Shetland Islands, and isles along the Antarctic Peninsula. Visit penguin
colonies, discover ice formations and look out for whales, dolphins,
seals and sea birds. The itinerary depends on ice, sea and weather
conditions, but usually includes Deception Island, Port Lockroy, Cuverville
Island, Vernadsky Base, Arctowski Base, Paradise Bay, Half Moon Island
and the iceberg-lined Lemaire Channel. On these days, regular land
and boat excursions will take place.

Leave Antarctica and sail north.

Pass Cape Horn and visit the Chilean port of Puerto
Williams. Enter the Beagle Channel and continue to explore Chile’s most
southerly fjords and glaciers.

Sail through the Kirke Narrows or Santa Maria Channel to the
small fishing town of Puerto Natales.

National Park. Return south down the Magellan Strait via Tucker Island
with its Magellanic penguin colony, to Punta Arenas.
