Depart London Heathrow on Jet Airways flight via Delhi (8 hours 45 minutes) to Kathmandu (1 hour 25 minutes).

Arriving in Kathmandu this afternoon transfer to the Hotel Himalaya.

Your morning tour of the city visits Kathmandu’s ancient heart, along with the
hill top temple of Swayambhunath. This afternoon is at leisure.

An early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,800m) for the start of your
trek. Lunch will be in the lush valley setting of Phakding, before continuing to the
Everest Summit Lodge in the picturesque Monjo Valley (trekking time 5 hours).

The small village of Monjo lies at 2,850 metres, amidst a spectacular setting of
verdant hills lying in the shadow of the imposing Mount Thamserku. Utilising today as an acclimatisation day walk up nearby Thakcho Hill, from where you can enjoy some breathtaking views across the narrow valley (trekking time 4 hours).

After breakfast enter the Sagarmatha National Park and begin the long walk
up to Namche Bazaar (3,450m), the heart of Sherpa culture in the Himalayas. This
bustling community has a wonderful natural setting and its colourful narrow streets
offer the perfect setting for lunch. Continue to your accommodation at the Everest
Summit Lodge at Tashinga (trekking time 6 hours).

A full day’s excursion takes you up to the famous Sherpa monastery at
Thyangboche (3,865m). From the village of Phunki Tenga, take a winding path up to the Gompa (monastery), where hopefully you will glimpse the magnificent peak of Everest. After lunch head back to Tashinga (trekking time 6 hours)

Today you pass through the village of Khumjung, whose hospital and school
were projects initiated by Sir Edmund Hillary himself. Your destination is the Everest Summit Lodge in Mende (3,700m), located above the village of Thamo along a trail bedecked with prayer flags and Mani (prayer) stones (trekking time 5 hours).

Visit the spectacular setting of Thame this morning where you are treated to a
quite breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. En route back to Mende visit
the charming Karag monastery at Thamo (trekking time 3½ hours).

Retracing your steps return to Namche via Khumjung and follow the trail back
down to the river. Crossing the bridge at Jorsale, return to Monjo for a further night at the Summit Mountain Lodge (trekking time 5 hours).

On your final day’s trekking return to Lukla, taking lunch beside the river, as
you negotiate your way back though the lush landscape of the valley. Overnight at
the Everest Summit Lodge in Lukla (trekking time 5 hours).

Fly back to Kathmandu for your stay at the unique Dwarika’s Hotel.
