  • The services of an experienced local Tour Manager/Naturalist Guide in India, exclusive to the Bales group, who takes care of all the tipping on your behalf.

Day 1

Leave London Heathrow in the late morning by British Airways non-stop flight to Delhi. On arrival in India’s energetic capital, your Tour Manager/Naturalist Guide will meet you and take you to the Maidens Hotel.

Day 2

The day is free with optional sightseeing of Delhi available. Dinner tonight provides the opportunity to meet your fellow travellers.

Day 3

Driving to Bharatpur where we enter one of the world’s most important wetland areas. An abundance of birdlife is found here including the painted stork, white ibis, egret, rosy pelican and the rare Siberian crane, and we spend the afternoon exploring by bicycle rickshaw or boat. Overnight at the Laxmi Vilas Palace.

After a morning in the park, we continue by road to Agra to spend the afternoon visiting the spectacular highlights of the magnificent Taj Mahal and the impressive sandstone Agra Fort. We stay at the Clarks Shiraz Hotel.

Travelling by train this morning to Orchha, once the capital of the Bundela kings, we visit the town and its dominating trio of temples, before continuing by road to Khajuraho where we stay at the Taj Hotel Chandela

After a morning’s visit to Khajuraho’s impressive 10th century temples famed for their intricate and erotic carvings, the rest of the day is free.

A long day’s drive brings us to the Bandhavgarh National Park set amidst the Vindhya ranges, for our stay at the Nature Heritage Lodge.

Once the private domain of the Maharajah of Rewa, Bandhavgarh presents us with one of the finest game viewing areas in the country, with tiger, leopard, sloth bears and a vast array of birdlife on offer. A full programme of game viewing has been arranged during our stay.

Drive to Kanha National Park today, the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book’ and a unique ‘Project Tiger’ reserve, one of India’s most successful conservation ventures. We stay at the Krishna Jungle Lodge.

With over 300 species of birds, leopards and of course, tigers, it is easy to see why Kanha so inspired Rudyard Kipling to set his famous ‘Jungle Book’ stories amongst its lush vegetation and typical landscapes.

After a final game drive this morning, we continue to the city of Nagpur, for an overnight stay at the Pride Hotel.
