On arrival in Auckland this morning you will be met and transferred by private vehicle to the Stamford Plaza for one night. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 4
This morning at approximately 9am a representative of Budget Rent A Car will deliver your Intermediate Automatic rental car to your accommodation (note - delivery available weekdays only excluding public holidays). Drive to Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty (approx. 205 kms). En route you may like to stop at Mills Reef Winery for a wine tour & lunch (optional- extra cost). Regarded as one of New Zealand's leading producers of fine wines, Mills Reef Winery is a family owned winery run by a hands-on father and son winemaking team and a producer of fine hand-crafted wines from premium Hawkes Bay grapes. They are highly regarded for outstanding Bordeaux red and Syrah wines and twice-recipient of the prestigious New Zealand Winemaker Of The Year title. They are also the winners of over 500 medals and 15 trophies in national and international competitions. Mills Reef Winery is located in Bethlehem, Tauranga and open 7 days. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon dining at the winery restaurant and/or visit the winery tasting room to try the current releases. Stay at the The Sebel Trinity Wharf Tauranga for one night.

Day 5
Depart Tauranga this morning and make your way via Rotorua & Lake Taupo to Napier (approx. 305 kms). Stay for two nights at the Masters Lodge in a suite. Spend the afternoon at leisure. This evening at your Lodge enjoy either Dinner with a Winemaker - A 'not-to-be-missed' opportunity for all wine and food lovers! Enjoy a superb five-course dinner at the Lodge in the company of a local winemaker or estate owner. Hear the masters of viticulture talk about their passion and taste their award-winning wines carefully selected to complement your menu. We work closely with the winemaker to match the perfect dishes to accent the outstanding wines of the vintner - OR a 'Theres a Chef in my Kitchen' Gourmet Dining Experience at your lodge - join our Chef in The Master’s Kitchen for a special opportunity to learn to prepare the evening’s culinary delights. This is a ”hands-on” opportunity for couples to actually help the Chef prepare your own meal. The Chef will showcase the finest in fresh local foods, demonstrate professional culinary techniques and fabulous food presentation, and you will work with the master chef. You will then enjoy the fruits of your labour, dining by candlelight in the Master’s Dining Room.

Day 6
This morning you will be collected from your lodge for a Food, Wine, Maori Culture & Artists Tour. Enjoy meeting fascinating artists, view their works, taste our wonderful wines, explore stunning scenery whilst absorbing our history. Spend time with interesting Maori and experience a Powhiri (Maori welcome) and visit the legendary Te Mata Peak (weather permitting). A platter lunch at a winery restaurant is included. At approx. 1.15pm you will be returned to your lodge. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Dinner is included this evening at your lodge.

Depart Napier and make your way to Martinborough (approx. 286 kms). Spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Martinborough, located in the Wairarapa region, is a unique wine village with over 25 boutique vineyards, most within walking distance of the charming town square. Stay overnight at the Peppers Martinborough Hotel in a suite.

Day 8
Spend the morning at leisure in Martinborough before making your way to Wellington (approx. 85 kms). Spend the remainder of the day at leisure in Wellington. Stay at the Duxton Hotel for two nights in a deluxe room.

Day 9
This morning join Zest Food Tours on a Walking Gourmet Tour. Explore Wellington's favourite food places in this compact city. Known as New Zealand's café capital, Wellington is ideal for our Zest Walking Gourmet tour. Visit a boutique coffee roaster and café. Enjoy tastings at Wellington's best specialist gourmet food stores. Meet owners, baristas, coffee roasters and chefs. Savour a delicious, light, three course tasting lunch with matched New Zealand wines at a top Wellington restaurant or café. Leaves Monday to Saturday from the i-SITE Visitor Centre, Civic Square, 9.30 am - 1.30 pm. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure in Wellington.

This morning make your way to the Wellington Ferry Terminal and return your rental car to the Budget Depot. Take the Interislander Ferry to Picton (1035/1335hrs). On arrival in Picton, collect your South Island Intermediate Automatic rental car from the Budget Depot and make your way to Blenheim (approx. 28 kms). Spend the remainder of the day at leisure in Blenheim. Stay for two nights at the Malborough Vintners Hotel in a suite.

Today you will be collected from your hotel for your full day Wine Walk. Marlborough is New Zealand's premier wine growing region with the largest number of wineries and vineyard plantings in the country. Signature wines from the region include Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir which thrive in this cool climate where warm days and cold nights create a length ripening period ensuring maximum flavours. Wilderness Guides' unique wine walk is an exploration of taste where you can stroll from cellar door to cellar door, learning the intricacies of the wine making process as you go - from plantings in the vineyard to processes in the winery. This is a personalised, educational and gourmet wine tour by two feet. It is a comfortable stroll for people who enjoy wine and walking. Note - the support van is in contact throughout the day so if you wish to purchase items along the way, these can be paid for and collected - you don't need to carry them! Winery lunch, wine tastings and guide included. Following your tour you will be returned to your hotel.

Depart Blenheim this morning and make your way to Christchurch via Kaikoura (approx. 308 kms). Spend the remainder of the day at leisure in Christchurch. Stay overnight at the George Hotel.
