Day 1
Depart London Heathrow this evening flying Japan Airlines non-stop to Tokyo.

Arriving in Tokyo, your Tour Manager will escort you to the Keio Plaza Hotel.

Day 3
Morning tour of Japan’s vibrant capital visiting the site of the Imperial Palace,
the Buddhist temple of Sensoji (Asakusa Kannon) and the famous Ginza district.

Day 4
Full day’s excursion to Nikko, by train and coach, to visit the famous Toshugo
Shrine and Rinoji Temple. Return to Tokyo late this afternoon.

Day 5
Drive to the magnificent setting of Mount Fuji, travelling via Lake Kawaguchi
and Fuji’s 5th station we enjoy some spectacular views of the landscape. We
continue to Hakone for overnight at the Hakone Palace Hotel.

Day 6
This morning we take a cable car ride to visit the sulphurous hot springs at
Owakudani for which Hakone is famous. Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Ashi, before
taking the train, via Nagoya, to Takayama for our stay at the Hida Hotel Plaza.

Day 7
A walking tour of Takayama this morning takes in the Miyagawa market, and
the beautifully preserved ambience of its old town. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8
Driving to Shirakawago we explore something of its captivating old farm
houses, taking in the traditional architectural style of the Gasshozukuri houses, before
proceeding, via Gokayama Village, to Kanazawa. Overnight at the ANA Hotel.

Day 9
A morning’s tour of the city takes in the beautiful landscapes of the Kenrokuen
Gardens and a former Samurai House, now an interesting museum. Departing by
Bullet Train this afternoon, we head for Hiroshima and the Rihga Royal Hotel.

Morning tour of the city, to include the poignant and powerful Peace Park,
A-bomb Museum and the Shukukelen Garden. Free afternoon.

Coach and ferry to Miyajima Island, to enjoy a walking tour and visits to the
Itsukushima Shrine and Momijidani Park. Overnight at the Iwaso Ryokan.

Return to Hiroshima and take the Bullet Train via Himeji to Kyoto, stopping to
visit Himeji Castle en route. On arrival in Kyoto transfer to the Rihga Royal Hotel.

Sightseeing in Kyoto includes Kinkakuji Temple, also known as the Golden
Temple, Ryoanji Rock Garden, Kiyomizu Temple and Nijo Castle.
