Day 1
Evening Jet Airways non-stop flight from London Heathrow to Delhi.

Day 2
Arriving late morning in the Indian capital we transfer to the Maidens Hotel.
Our afternoon tour takes in the impressive grandeur of the British Raj and the
architectural creations of the famous 20th century British architect Edwin Lutyens,
before visiting the Gandhi memorial and the often overlooked Gandhi Museum.

Day 3
This morning we visit the colourful Hindu temple complex at Chattarpur
and the extraordinary 13th century tower of Qutb Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Monument, built to herald the advent of the Muslim sultans. Finally, at Humayun’s Tomb, we are presented with one of the finest examples of Moghul architecture anywhere in India. This evening, dinner is held in the hotels delightful Curzon Room restaurant and provides the opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers..

Day 4
Leaving Delhi and travelling along the famous Grand Trunk Road to Agra this
morning we journey to the capital of the Moghul Empire, stopping at Sikandra en
route to visit the impressive sandstone mausoleum of Akbar the Great. Continuing to Agra our stay is at the Clarks Shiraz Hotel.

Day 5
This morning we concentrate on the magnificent architectural heritage of
the Great Moghuls, visiting the imposing gravity of Agra’s red sandstone fort and
the unique, timeless elegance of the Taj Mahal, built by the Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz. There is also an option for those who wish to return to watch the sunset at the Taj, a truly unforgettable experience.

Day 6
The evocative city of Fatehpur Sikri, built by Akbar in the late 16th century
has been described as “the world’s most perfectly preserved ghost town”. We will
visit this most captivating of sites today, enjoying the serene majesty of its elegant
architecture en route to the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur where we stay at the Alsisar Haveli

Day 7
This morning we visit the classic elegance of the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the
Winds) and the Maharajah’s Palace, home to the rulers of Jaipur since the 18th
century and a quite magnificent example of the opulence and grandeur of the
former maharajahs, that now houses a museum displaying some of the treasures of Jaipur’s princely past. The afternoon is free to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 8
We leave Jaipur and head north, to explore the halls and courtyards of the
majestic and dramatic Amber Fort, including the dazzling beauty of its famous
Chamber of Mirrors. After our visit we continue the journey back to Delhi for an
overnight stay at the Ashok Country Resort.
