Day 1
Morning departure from London Heathrow by KLM via Amsterdam (1 hour 35 minutes) to Kilimanjaro (8 hours 25 minutes). Private transfer on arrival to Arusha for an overnight stay at the Serena Mountain Village Lodge.

Day 2
Your safari begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park (150 KM/approximately 2 hours 30 minutes), well known for its huge herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as lion, cheetah and leopard. Your driver/guide is an experienced wildlife expert whose knowledge and ability to spot the animals and birds will astound you. Afternoon game drive and overnight at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

Day 3
Enjoying a morning’s game viewing, you then continue to Gibbs Farm, nestling in the shadow of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you enjoy lunch. In the afternoon continue to Ngorongoro Crater (195 KM/approximately 4 hours) for your stay at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.

Day 4
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact caldera (collapsed volcano). Today we descend the 600 metres into the crater by 4-wheel-drive vehicles for a full day safari. Over 30,000 animals live within this enormous natural bowl, the most densely packed concentration of wildlife in Africa. You should see wildebeest, elephant, lion, dik-dik, and warthog, whilst on the lakeside there are pelican, ibis and flamingo.

Day 5
Visit Olduvai Gorge, where Professor Louis Leakey discovered some of the earliest evidence of human existence in the 1950s. Continue to the Serengeti National Park (180 KM/approximately 4 hours 30 minutes), where you will stay at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge.

Day 6
Serengeti is the Masai word for ‘endless plains’, a somewhat apt description of this magnificent setting. The endless plains are matched by the seemingly endless wildlife that sweeps across these timeless vistas. On your game drive today you have every chance of seeing the Serengeti’s big game, including lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant, as well as huge herds of zebra and wildebeest.

Day 7
A morning’s drive into the Great Rift Valley brings us to Lake Manyara (210 KM/approximately 5 hours 30 minutes), where an afternoon’s game viewing should hopefully afford you the chance of catching a glimpse of Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions. Overnight at the Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 8
A final early morning game drive before you return to Arusha (130 KM/approximately 2 hours 30 minutes) for lunch. In the evening depart by KLM via Amsterdam (touching down en route to Amsterdam in Dar es-Salaam) to London.
