Day 1
Depart London Heathrow this evening on British Airways to Johannesburg (10 hours 55 minutes).

Day 2
Arrive in Johannesburg and connect with your British Airways flight to Windhoek. On arrival transfer by roadto the elegant Olive Grove Guesthouse, where you will stay for 2 nights. The rest of the day has been left free for you to relax.

Day 3
Today is free to enjoy at your leisure. You might like to take a tour of the city,
exploring its recent colonial past, or perhaps visit some of the handicraft workshops
that form an integral part of the Namibian economy. A tour of the local townships can
be tailored to your interests, including visits that encompass history and culture.

Day 4
This morning drive via Rehoboth, into the Kalahari Desert and the start of your
journey through southern Namibia. Day’s end finds us on the banks of the Auob River,
for an evening at the Auob Lodge.

Day 5
Continuing into the Kalahari, you will visit the amazing ‘Quiver Tree’, a plant
that has adapted superbly to its harsh environment and whose light, spongy wood
was perfect for creating quivers for the San Bushmen. Also visit Keetmanshoop, an old
mission station, before continuing via the Naute Dam to view the spectacular northern
fringes of the Fish River Canyon. Overnight at Canon Village.

Day 6
Travelling via Aus and into the Namib Desert, there is the chance today to see
wild desert horses. The journey towards Lüderitz takes you through one of the most
scenic routes in the country, offering an exhilarating afternoon touring the southern
peninsula. Overnight at the Nest Hotel.

Day 7
Kolmanskop, a once thriving diamond town, today lies abandoned amidst the desert sands, a ghostly reminder of the diamond fever that gripped this part of Africa at the turn of the 20th century. Visit the town and then continue en route towards Maltahöhe, where you will overnight at the Hammerstein Rest Camp.

Day 8
Making an early start head for Sossusvlei, where a 4-wheel-drive vehicle
takes you deep into the heart of the Namib Desert and one of the most incredible
landscapes on earth. Later visit Sesriem Canyon and the village of Solitaire, as you wind
your way past the Namib Naukluft Mountains towards the Namib Naukluft Lodge.

Day 9
Driving through the Kuiseb Canyon today continue towards the coast, enjoying
a picnic lunch as you make your way to view the incredible ‘Welwitschia mirabilis’, a
plant said to be more than 1,000 years old. Crossing an incredible ‘lunar’ landscape
we head for Swakopmund, to overnight at the Hansa Hotel.

Day 10
The seabird colonies at Walvis Bay lagoon number some 120,000 birds, a spectacular sight and our final look at the ocean as we turn inland once more, heading towards Windhoek through the towns of Usakos and Karibib and a visit to the spectacular jewellery displays at the Henckert’s Centre. Overnight at the Olive Grove Guesthouse

This morning is at leisure before your transfer to the airport for your flight on British Airways (operated by Comair) to Johannesburg. Connect with your overnight British Airways flight back to London.
