Days 1+2 : Claridges Hotel

The Claridges Hotel has wonderful old-fashioned charm that is appreciated by all guests who choose to stay at this hotel that is situated in the middle of an exclusive residential district not far from down town area. It is located in the centre of New Delhi, 4 km from the main shopping centre, 6 km from the New Delhi railway station, 12 km from the domestic airport and 20 km from the international airport. Having undergone a major renovation the hotel aims to combine the old grandeur of the original 1950’s architecture with modern upmarket New Delhi. Days 3+4 : The Mayfair Hotel

The Mayfair Hotel in Darjeeling is a converted house with several cottages built in the gardens. There are only 21 rooms, which are tastefully decorated and have open fires that are lit on request. As well as the main restaurant, the hotel has a cosy bar and a library. In Sikkim and Bhutan one must be prepared for unsophisticated facilities. The rooms are simple but comfortable with private bathrooms and electric lighting. The voltage (240 v) can fluctuates and power cuts may occur. Furthermore, the plumbing can also be erratic and both these points can affect the supply of hot water to the rooms. In this instance it is possible to order freshly boiled water to be sent to your room. Throughout the year, all hotels do undergo maintenance and renovation work; although this mainly takes place in the less busy months between April and September, occasionally more major work is necessary without prior warning.

Days 5+6 : Norbu Gang Resort

Norbu Gang Resort in Pelling has eleven cottages set amidst landscaped greenery. The cottages face the mountains and each has its own private veranda and are equipped with attached modern bathrooms with hot and cold water throughout the year. The Resort also has a modern hotel annexe within the resort complex. The hotel complex has 25 deluxe rooms and a suite, called the Denzong Suite. All rooms have attached bathrooms and a private balcony with an undisturbed view of the mountains.

Days 7+8 : The Nor-Khil Hotel

The Nor-Khil Hotel in Gangtok is a medium grade heritage hotel with 32 rooms with ensuite facilities. In has been built in the style of typical Sikkimese architecture in the midst of lush greenery despite its location in the heart of Gangtok.

Day 9 : The Druk Hotel

The Druk Hotel in Phutsholing is located just across from the Indian border. All rooms are spacious with private facilities and television. The hotel restaurant serves good Bhutanese, Chinese and Indian cuisine and additionally the hotel has a bar and a pleasant outdoor sitting area.

Days 10+11 : The Pedling Hotel

The Pedling Hotel is centrally located and 39 rooms have private facilities. Heating is provided with an electric plug in fire. The hotel has a small bar and the restaurant serves Bhutanese, Chinese, Indian and continental dishes. The hotel also has a small business centre.

Day 12 : The Hotel Zangthopelri

The Hotel Zangthopelri is located on a hill high above the Punakha Valley, approximately 5km from the town. Most of the 45 rooms are located in cottages away from the main building. The rooms are spacious, have a television plus private facilities. The hotel has a restaurant and bar plus a swimming pool although this is rarely full of water.

Days 13+14+15 : The Olathang Hotel

Overlooking the Paro Valley, The Olathang Hotel has 56 rooms divided between the main part of thr hotel and cottages located in the grounds of the hotel. Each room is well appointed and facilities include private facilities and cable television. The hotel also has a small souvenir shop, a cosy bar, an internet room and a restaurant serving national cuisine as well as Chinese, Indian and continental. The hotel also has a traditional hot stone bath.

Day 16 : Radisson Hotel

The Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu is a modern first class property, opened in November 1998. Each of the hotel's 172 rooms and suites is fully equipped with individual air-conditioning/heating, hair dryers, tea/coffee making facilities, in-room safety deposit boxes, satellite television, full mini-bar and IDD telephone. The hotel has two restaurants and a lobby bar, a swimming pool, pool café, and a health and spa centre.
